#Heart Renovation#
The general area so big and spacious
Floorboards protesting at each step, be
cautious
Window pens, cracked, broken and dangerous
The wall paint, faded and dirt filled
Looking up, parts of the ceiling are
missing
Surely such a room needs repair
The building's history, quite a remarkable
memory
A shelter for most still is
Never was it popular, but those who came
into it, still tell tales of the great place it was
What made it derelict
The bright color it used to have, gone
All that was inside, the wind blew out, an
empty shell remains
Miss Quinn, with her overwhelming nature
of observation
Not the bad, shattered, worn and filthy
part of it she notices
But the reason for its design.
Her will from deep within she sets out to
make things right.
One day, a paint brush in hand
From the old pale blue, she turns it to a
bright scarlet feature
The next day best wood, hammer and nails
in hand changes the floor unsuitable to handle a standing weight to a
magnificent hard wood base
The day after that, all leaks checked,
warm inviting feature stands in place to the old derelict house.
Neighbor to acquaintances, the word passes
from lips to ears of how a great job done down the street.
A good house surely never falls, all it
needs is a bit of her, she fixes hearts
